Rashelle Fetty is campaigning to be elected Judge of the 231st Judicial District Court of Tarrant County, Texas. What do you need to know?

About the Court: The 231st District Court is a specialized Family Law Court serving all of Tarrant County. All Tarrant County registered voters elect the Judge. Family Law consists of adoption, child custody, child support, and divorce. The current Judge is Jesse Nevarez and he is not running for re-election.

About Rashelle Fetty, Attorney: Rashelle Fetty has been an attorney since 2013 and has practiced Family Law for her entire career. Ms. Fetty owns and operates her law firm from Colleyville, Tarrant County, Texas. Ms. Fetty became Board Certified in Family Law in 2020.

About Rashelle Fetty, Individual: Rashelle grew up in Enid, Oklahoma with her parents and older sister. Rashelle went to college at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia and was an NCAA Division 1 scholarship athlete. It is her most prized accomplishment to date 🙂 Rashelle came to Fort Worth in 2011 for law school and fell in love with Tarrant County. She has made her home in North Richland Hills and placed her business in Colleyville. She has committed to Tarrant County’s community by investing in Fort Worth, Mansfield and Hurst. Rashelle loves her dogs, reading, and traveling. She is a proud Christian and lifelong Conservative.

Ms. Fetty believes first and foremost, Judges should know the law and be committed to following it. Ms. Fetty’s Board Certification shows her knowledge of and commitment to the law.

Judges should also be fair and impartial. Ms. Fetty spent 90 hours in 2022 training to become a mediator and has since spent over 740 hours serving a mediator. This training and experience will serve her well as Judge as she has learned to listen to both sides of the case and remain neutral.

Judges should also be professional. Ms. Fetty is aware that the Judge of a Family Law Court is seeing their neighbors when they are going through a difficult process. They are divorcing and dividing assets and/or dealing with child custody and child support. Ms. Fetty believes that the Judge should treat the people in their Court with the utmost patience, consideration, and compassion while maintaining an orderly courtroom. The Judge of a District Court is also entrusted with Tarrant County funds and must be a good steward. Ms. Fetty has the skills to operate a Court efficiently and cost effectively as an experience business owner.
